LA COLINA

The new house at La Colina was shaped by very specific circumstances pertaining to site, which presented unique opportunities as well as topographical and geometrical constrains. The main entrance was pushed back into a frontal courtyard which also serves inconspicuously as a driveway. This recessed entryway positions the visitor at a very convenient midpoint where progression to the main living areas and private quarters occurs naturally. The spectator's vantage point is readily perceived at the entrance vestibule and expands along the sequence of glass encircled living areas. Connection to the profuse natural surrounding setting is dramatic, accentuated by high ceilings and expansive overhangs.

The Architectural program has been arranged into a series of rectangular volumes with varying roof heights that overlay deeply with each other , creating a striking architectural composition.
